One of the main attractions in Lisbon is the climb to the hilltop where the Castle of São Jorge looms above the city. Street performers nest along the narrow cobblestones. A fun artwork Artist painting using the most prized Portuguese speciality; coffee beans. Coffee is a stimulant drug introduced through the former colonies since the 18th Century. This immediately sparked a connection for me to paint using another drug, heroin. Since 2001 the possession of all drugs in Portugal has been decriminalised. It is not a crime to possess a 10 day supply, or one gram of heroin.
